About Us

Locally Owned. Community Focused.

Narooma Oysters is a small, hands-on oyster farm based on Wagonga Inlet. As locals, we understand that the health of the inlet and the strength of our community go hand in hand.

Rooted in Narooma

Our leases sit on the protected waters of Wagonga Inlet on the NSW South Coast. We aren’t a distant corporation — we are locals who live and work here, raising families and relying on this inlet just like everyone else.

Crafted for Quality

From juvenile spat to harvest, every oyster is handled with care. We specialise in Sydney Rock Oysters, grown slowly in clean tidal water and graded by hand so only our best oysters reach your plate.

Sustainability

Environmentally Friendly Farming

The inlet is our most important asset. Our farming methods are designed around protecting water quality and supporting a healthy estuary ecosystem.

Low-Impact Infrastructure

We use gear designed to minimise disturbance to the seabed and surrounding habitat.

  • Lightweight infrastructure on our leases
  • Careful placement to avoid sensitive areas
  • Regular maintenance to prevent debris or lost gear

Natural Growing Conditions

Our oysters are grown naturally in tidal estuary water, with no chemical treatments.

  • No additives or growth enhancers
  • Routine water quality monitoring
  • Harvest guided by environmental conditions

Healthy Inlet, Healthy Oysters

Oysters naturally filter the water they live in, improving clarity and supporting marine life.

  • Each oyster filters litres of water per day
  • Supports seagrass and aquatic biodiversity
  • Reuse and recycling of farm materials where possible
